I just wanted to take this time to formally introduce myself to you. My name is Michelle Ponciano, but I go by “Mrs. Shelley”. I have been married for over 20 years and mother to four amazing children. I have always had a passion for teaching, and started taking classes to become a teacher while still in High school. Over the past 25 years, I have taught several different grades, participated in program development for several schools, owned and operated a licensed home daycare, and served as a preschool director for several years. I have been involved with Pines for over a decade.
I am excited to play a part in your child’s academic career. You (as a parent) are your child’s first and most influential teacher. Your participation is vital. With your help, we can start your child on the road to a lifelong love of learning.
Your child will grow in many ways this year. Our goal is to guide them in a loving way so that they develop a relationship with the Lord, learn to relate appropriately with family, learn friendship skills, and gain a solid understanding of the foundations of learning. We hope that our students will have fun in the process!
It’s no accident that Pines students are here. I feel it is a divine appointment. There will be times when you do not understand why I have your child doing something, (I assure you there is a method to my madness J) and in the end, I believe you will be pleased with the results. If there is anything you need to discuss with me please feel free to call the school and leave a message or send a note. I am usually pretty good about getting back to you during my prep period. I am also available before and after school.
Thank you for sharing your blessings with me,
